SCF Riding News
USEF / Markel Young Horse National Championships
We are pleased to announce that Tamora and I have been invited to the USEF / Markel Young Horse National Championships on September 9-11, 2005 at the Kentucky horse park.
The Championships were not what I had hoped for, Tamora and I had a tension problem at the championships that we could not over come in time for our first ride. Our first ride on Friday left us in 17th place. That placing put us in the consolation ride on Saturday. The top 2 placing from the consolation ride would advance to Sundays finals. On Saturday we made some improvements but Tamora was still not anywhere close to being as good as she can be, but it did give us a 2nd place on Saturday. Unfortunately they combined the 2 rides (Friday and Saturday) for a final score to see who will advance to Sundays finals. Our score from Friday was not good enough to advance. Results
I really enjoyed this program and I am looking forward to doing it again when I have another horse good enough. Tamora is currently in foal and I can't see anyway that she can be ready to do the 6 yr. old program by the time we give her time off to be a mom in the spring.

Tamora and I are qualified for this program also and we are invited to show at Dressage @ Devon on September 30. 2005 If you have never shown at DAD well let me tell you it is way harder than one would think. What a great experience to have done it. Again this was a disappointing placing, but on the up side I am so glad I did it. I learned so much throughout the experience that it made it all worth it. I ended up in 7th place in the class and 3rd place in the NABF championship and won $1000.00 to help pay for the trip.Personal Comments
In closing I would like to say that I am very proud of Tamora and what all I have done with her this year. I stepped way out of my comfort zone throwing myself in way over my head and for sure was not ready for it. I still feel good about the fact I did it and it defiantly raised the bar for me in my own riding goals and gave me a new direction in my own breeding program. Photos coming soon!
